PUBLIC MEETING
A Public Meeting has been arranged for Wednesday 29 July 2026 starting at 7pm at the Ex-Servicemen’s Club, Benhall. The Meeting will focus on Benhall Railway Bridge in the context of LionLink’s ‘live’ targeted consultation and the wider subject of the numerous cumulative impacts of this and other NSIPs
This will be an Open Meeting. There will be the opportunity for residents to ask questions, make statements, and raise issues for consideration etc. at the Meeting. Those wishing to speak are kindly asked to raise their hand and wait to be called upon to speak to allow the Meeting to proceed undisrupted. It may not be possible to provide an immediate response at the Meeting, but, if that is the case, Councillors will do their best to provide a response as quickly as possible outside of the meeting and ahead of the consultation deadline.

LionLink Project – Targeted Consultation on changes to National Grid’s proposals
National Grid Ventures is undertaking a targeted consultation on a number of changes to its proposals for the LionLink project following feedback received during the statutory consultation earlier this year. The targeted consultation concludes on Wednesday 5 August 2026 and focuses on the following:
A 400m westward shift in the landfall site location in Walberswick
Options for works to Benhall Railway Bridge and its inclusion into the project
boundary (Draft Order Limits)
Widening the project boundary (Draft Order Limits) at Lymballs Lane, Darsham
Refinements to the project boundary (Draft Order Limits) at access points from
local roads and construction areas
Details of these changes are available in the Targeted Consultation Brochure (pages 14/15 refer to the Bridge) on National Grid’s website LionLink Targeted consultation | National Grid but also now available on the Parish Council’s website. Consultation activity is targeted at those most directly affected and relevant organisations, but anyone can provide feedback.
Please note: We have been reminded that all attendees should not consume alcohol during the meeting. We thank you for helping us to comply with the law by not bringing alcoholic drinks into the meeting room.

Parish Clerk/Responsible Finance Officer
Next scheduled meetings will be held on Monday 21 September 2026
